decluttering is good, unless it becomes un-intuitive. The average user is lazy, if it ain’t in front of em, they are not going to mouse over things “looking”, nor are they usually very curious to look around for clues. Similar to the old “mystery meat” navigation. Because of that though, far too many sites went in the opposite direction, putting TOO much info crammed into small spaces. Is there a happy medium? It really depends on the target demo.
